Part of my job is to actually score for the film sequences I have also shot and directed myself. However, because we’ve been pressed for time in the last few weeks, the group decided to just use a bunch of songs, movie soundtrack and sound clips instead of composing original sound components for the film. It was a half-hearted decision but we thought it would be efficient to do so. Thank God for Pro Tools for being an effective tool for sampling and sequencing. Never fails me. The ‘draft video’ will be reviewed by the entire group tomorrow to (meticulously) assess the overall design and effect of the video section; plus, if it fulfils the purpose well and how it can be improved.
Trivia: A recording from the original motion film soundtrack of “August Rush” (in which the project drew a lot of inspiration from) was used for the film.
