Raised to New Life

Let’s begin to read this passage from Paul’s letter to the Colossians, right at the beginning of Chapter 3.

(Read Colossians 3:1-3)

Thoughts to ponder:

  • I have already died with Christ (i.e., my sinful nature, the power and dominion of sin over me), and He has raised me to new life in His resurrection. I can be alive again and be made new. I can be born again spiritually.
  • So I will set my mind to all things heaven: the final destination, the citizenship, the new identity, the glory of God, the grace I am experiencing until His next coming. Do not focus too much on the material things which are all temporary and have no eternal value.
  • Real life is found in Christ alone. I have been bought for a price, a high cost–the blood of heaven’s perfect Lamb. And He did it so I can experience new life, a life free from sin and death’s dominion; a life reconnected to the Lord.
  • I will keep subjecting my sinful nature to the Word of God, His laws and morals, with the grace He’s gifted and its implications.
