Brandy this June!

Imma put it down, fellas! Brandy is coming to Australia this June! Yes, Brandy! Moesha Brandy, Cinderella Brandy, The Boy is Mine Brandy! Brandy, Brandy, Brandy!

I got all frisky and hysterical when I learned about her Australia and New Zealand tour this 2016. My sister could attest to this. It was a delirium. I was just over the big, round moon.

She is my R&B icon. One of the biggest stars of the 90s and early 21st century. She is also dubbed the “Vocal Bible” by soul fanatics because of her undeniably exceptional vocal prowess and formidable artistry. And her runs—raving mad.

Her music never gets old. Her style and sound are just timeless. It’s the quintessential R&B flavour. She’s like the eccentric spice you need to achieve an exquisite savour. Her voice is the embodiment of a divine, elusive soul. And she delivers all these with vigorous sass and panache.

Of course, I already purchased my ticket. Got it on the very first day of the pre-sale on the first week of May. I cannot and will not miss this for the world! According to the organisers, the pre-sale tickets were sold out! And the Platinum & Gold tickets are nearly gone!

There is also a Meet-and-Greet after the show, which is limited only to 50 people. I’m happy to say I’m one of the 50 to meet her an take photos with her. It’s surely not cheap, but given that this could only be once in a lifetime, I just gotta do it! I’m making this my birthday gift to myself for this year, and as a reward for all my hard work and toiling the past year. Gosh, am I worthy.

A Breakout in Sydney!

Image

And this day happened. Aussie star, Luke Mitchell AKA “John Young” of the remarkable American sci-fi series, The Tomorrow People (which I’m a huge fan of) has flown in to visit Sydney this April to attend the Logies this Sunday, the 27th, and to promote the international series with Fox 8. The series has started airing only a few weeks ago in Australia on Fox 8, while there are only two episodes remaining in the US to conclude the season.

His fans (and the show’s of course) were in for, what I must say, a magnanimous treat as Fox 8 came up with an “intimate” (yes, that’s the exact word used) Q&A/Meet-and-Greet with Luke along with the exclusive Australian screening of episode 4 of The Tomorrow People, “Kill or Be Killed” (which was cancelled for some inexplicit reason). This was held at The Loft in Sydney, a fantastic place sitting against the bay that gave us a great view of the whole harbour setting. (Note: The photos could all look weird because WordPress is having issues displaying the correct proportion or resolution. Click on the photo to see the correct resolution.)

This place is superb!

Guess they’re trying to emulate the grandiose Hollywood-like red carpet entrance. This could be a miniature version of it. Close enough.

Image

This is the best view I could get apparently. I don’t know why I couldn’t capture an impressive view of it.

Candids.

Funny how Luke all of a sudden just walked so casually into the bar without any warning, paparazzi or whatever. HAHA!

The fans were given the chance to have a one-on-one (or maybe two-on-one?) chat with TTP’s John Young himself. I must say that Luke has been one of the nicest and kindest celebrities I’ve ever met and had the privilege of chatting with. Despite of the inescapable jet lag, and perhaps, the lack of proper rest, he was very friendly and welcoming to everybody, answering every question with gusto and frequent chortling.

It is just quite refreshing to encounter a sought-after international celebrity who is very down-to-earth, well disposed and can generate an instant rapport with his fans (Man, you should see the faces of the women who came. They were enchanted but were trying so hard to be discreet in showing it). It is definitely a day to remember.

The mandatory autograph signing. I wonder if they actually ever get used to this.

Happy that my Nikon 32-whatever-the-digits-are camera was able to forget its fuzziness for about two seconds in taking this photo. Another thing, Luke probably got tired of me calling him “John” (his character on TTP) the whole time and asking uber random questions! I just got all flustered and overwhelmed by the whole experience!

As promised, I uploaded some of those photos I took during the M&G. To the ones who are in the photos: if you want a personal copy of your own photo(s), unformatted and un-watermarked, feel free to message me so I can email them to you.

The Fox 8 Team responsible in facilitating the event. Great, great job, guys! Thank you for being really kind and accommodating!

Image

Grinning big! Keep it like that!

At the end of the M&G session, this guy from Fox 8 wanted us to be a part of a mini ad for TTP on the cable channel (I’m not even sure if we’re allowed to tell others about it just yet). It needed us to act like we teleported in the frame so we had to act our best to look like it! It was hilarious!

More Fox people.

Semi-photobombing by Luke.

Ah, look at those smiles!

Having some fun right there?

Luke filming his bit. I saw and heard John Young at that very moment. Priceless!

My last photo of John. Failed to get a decent solo of him.

Iced venti caramel macchiato to end the day!
